Welcome

This is a blog I made to share some of my favorite albums, and albums I think everyone should hear. The essential albums in my opinion, all genres, any time, any place. I hope some of you enjoy these records, and share them with others. If you like what you hear, please buy the album from the band. If you are in the band and you would rather people don't check out your music just let me know and I'll take it down.

I can see around my mind when you're not here

I've slept on this band so long. This is soooo good. Had to share it. More shoegaze with lots of buzzsaw guitars and dreamy vocals. Right up my alley. Here's a description from Last.fm:
Medicine is a / band from Los Angeles, USA. They have had two distinct incarnations. The band was first formed in 1991 by guitarist and programmer Brad Laner (aka Electric Company) and signed to Rick Rubin’s American Recordings label the following year. Medicine was/is considered the American response to shoegazing bands such as My Bloody Valentine, Ride and Chapterhouse. With a signature guitar tone, created by running Brad Laner’s guitar through a Yamaha 8-track recorder, Medicine’s music managed to distinguish itself from some of the more noisy and ambiguous endeavours of the shoegazing movement. The band made a brief appearance as themselves in the film The Crow, performing Time Baby III.

Highly recommended.

Each shade of blue is kept in her eyes

M83 is releasing a new album in October and touring the states in November, and I am beyond excited. One of my favorite artists. If you don't know M83 is French electronic music artist and what I'm including here is his fifth studio album Saturdays = Youth. This is my favorite album by him because it mixes electronic music with shoegaze/80s music. Seriously the sound on this album is huge. Check it out. Ignore the stupid album cover.

Suddenly...life has new meaning

Yep, I'm going there. This is probably one of the best metal records of all time. Raw recording, scathing vocals, classic black metal riffing with ambient parts thrown in creating a unique sound that no one as matched since. Say what you want about Varg (visionary, overrated, racist, arsonist, murderer, etc), but he knows how to create great black metal records. Just recently scored this on vinyl (not an original of course) and it is beautiful.
