This album should be just as acclaimed as Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division. A post punk classic, but it's also much more than post punk. It's kind of metal, kind of funky, kind of electronic and you can definitely hear the beginning of Industrial music. But all things said, it's a punk album, and a damn good one.
Interesting side note: Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Metallica, and Tool have all credited Killing Joke for influencing much of their own material. With Foo Fighters and Metallica actually covering songs off this classic album (Requiem and The Wait respectively).
